what is rush? 

Rush is an opportunity for anyone to take a look at the various clubs and organizations on campus. During this time Sigma Omicron Pi welcomes any who come by our booth. We would love to share our personal experiences or answer any questions you may have. It is a chance for you, the rushee to get an inside look of what SOPi is all about at our rush events and hangout with the Sisters of SOPi!

 how do i rush? 

It's easy and fun! Just come out to any of our rush events specified on our flyers or websites and enjoy your time with the sisters of Sigma Omicron Pi. All transportation and food are free as well!

 will sopi conflict with my academics and/or work? 

SOPi is filled with sisters who aspire to do well in academics and work hard. With this in mind, we all take the time to motivate and support each other to do their very best. Like with any extracurricular activity, there will be time to put in, however, it is very manageable. Sigma Omicron Pi is there for you and will never let a sister fall behind.

what makes sigma omicron pi different from other sororities?

The purpose of Sigma Omicron Pi is to promote lifelong friendships through a commitment to unity, provide leadership training, to dedicate the highest standard of service to the community, and to promote Asian American awareness.

 

Sigma Omicron Pi:

- Is the strongest and first national Asian American sisterhood - over 80 years of history and service since 1930

- Will help you meet new people who make your social and academic life in college more memorable

- Enable you to gain leadership skills that will make you a better person as a whole and help you get ahead in the future.

- You become a part of a sisterhood that you can not get anywhere else, which consists of sisters from 13 chapters from the west coast to the east coast

 what is the pledging process like? ​

Pledging is perhaps the most important part of understanding the values of sisterhood. When you decide to pledge for Sigma Omicron Pi, you are pledging your time, heart, and dedication to learning the true meaning of sisterhood. The challenges and obstacles you face along with your pledge sisters will only make you stronger as an individual, while simultaneously developing skills to work in a team. Through our encouragement and support, Sigma Omicron Pi becomes a supportive network for you to achieve academic and social growth.

 what type of girls does sopi consist of? 

SOPi does not have any specific image that joins this sisterhood. Each one of our sisters has different interests and aspirations, yet we all share one common ground - Sigma Omicron Pi. We encourage any women with similar values looking for a memorable lifelong bond to consider joining SOPi. We do not discriminate for any reason and would love to be acquainted with those who take an interest.
